Success story of Thangabavana – Tirunelveli

Thangabavana was diagnosed with CHD when she was 13 years of age. Her dad is a coolie by profession, and mom is a housewife. She has an elder brother, who is mentally ill. He was born after 5 years of married life and was expected to be a happy & healthy treasure for them. But he was found to be mentally retarded when he was 3 years old. There is a saying “Life is full of ups and downs. The trick is to enjoy the ups and have the courage during the downs”. The courage that the couple had, made them to run their life smooth in spite of their financial and mental struggle.

After 4 years of waiting, the darling baby Thangabavana was born. She became the biggest hope for her parents, years passed and she grew to be a healthy girl. They never expected such a shocking clinical result. The CHD was diagnosed by the doctors from the medical camp held at her school. Already they were facing difficulties in bringing up their elder son. Her mom was taking complete care of the 17 years old son, who was mentally a baby. The meager family income was not sufficient for the surgery which was suggested for Thangabavana’s recovery.

The doctors of the camp, being aware of the family’s situation, referred Thangabavana to Little Moppet Heart Foundation for further guidance & support. With the help of the supportive donors, surgery was immediately taken up. Thangabavana responded well to the treatment. The family is now seen happy & hopeful.
