Welcoming a baby into the world is a momentous occasion for any parent and Prakathishshri’s parents were no different. But destiny had something else planned. Their world came crashing down when they learned that their beloved daughter had been born with Congenital Heart Disease. Although the distraught parents rushed her to the Kannavelaku Hospital in Theni, the doctors there asked them to wait till Prakathishshri was 3 years old to perform surgery. They also advised Prakathishshri to undergo ECHO test every three months to monitor her condition.

They decided to seek a second medical opinion and the doctor advised Prakathishshri to undergo surgery at the earliest. Her parents were unsure of who to approach for the surgery and how to give a new lease of life to Prakathishshri. They were really at a crossroad, with the mother about to embark on a journey of her own to welcome a second child.
